How To Use Squeeze Pages To Collect Opt-ins And Build Your List

A squeeze page is a great way to attract and gain more subscribers for your mailing list.

Squeeze pages are a very popular in internet marketing especially.

A squeeze page is a one to two page website capturing reader’s names and email addresses. The best squeeze pages make a very powerful statement in or to produce a reaction in the reader.

You really only have one chance to get the reader to take action and request to get more products or free offers that you will be offering now and in the future.

I have found that the best types of squeeze pages are very short and follow a simple format.

These types of squeeze pages give a big eye catching headline, a powerful sub headline, list the benefits of becoming a subscriber and what the reader can be expecting when they sign up with you, a brief description of the free offer you will be offering the subscriber for signing up, and last but not least an attractive opt-in form.

You do not have to follow these squeeze pages to a “T.”

Although they do need to be similar but with your own style of formatting and preference of how you want the content of your page viewed.

Now if you don’t already have a site or if you have never created one, you may feel overwhelmed when it comes to building a site.

When you use the right tools and programs it’s really not that hard as long as you take one step at a time.

First and foremost before you can create a squeeze page you will need a domain name for your site.

A domain name is what you enter in the address bar at the top of your browser.

For example: www.myprivatelabelrights.com.

You will want your domain name to be related to the niche you are in.

For example, let’s say you are going to be creating products for training puppies, a good domain name to chose would be something like trainyourpuppy.com.

This simply makes it easier for Google to be able to index you where you need to be indexed in that niche and in turn making it easier for readers to find you.

I recommend using a dot com (.com).

When people are trying to remember a domain name, dot com is the first thing most people will likely associate with the name.

Some marketers also feel that dot com’s take a bigger priority when it comes to search engine results.

There are tons and tons of domain name companies where you can pick up your domain.

I recommend using NameCheap.com.

After you have purchased your domain name you will then need to find a hosting company.

Every site on the internet is saved on a computer somewhere waiting to be accessed by a viewer.

A hosting company will store your website and then deliver it to whoever requests it by typing in your domain name.

There are tons of hosting companies on the web today.

Prices vary and they also offer different tools so really it’s just finding the right hosting company that fits your business needs.

Here are just a couple and frequently used hosting companies that you can check out:

- Hostgator
- BlueHost

Now that you have your domain name and a hosting company you will need to connect the two together so that your domain name can be live.

The main thing you will need to make sure that is in place for everything to work and be live is your name servers.

This is what links the domain name to your web hosting.

Your name servers are provided to you by your web hosting company.

If you did not receive your name servers from your web hosting company you will need to contact them and get them from them…

You will need this for your domain name to become live and to link it with your hosting company.

After this process is through and your domain name is live… you are ready to start creating your squeeze page.

But before you can start creating your squeeze page you will need a HTML editor and if you are a beginner and you are not familiar with HTML, you will need an HTML editor with a visual editor.

A lot of marketers call this a “WYSIWYG”, which is short for “What You See Is What You Get” editor and is very similar to word processor.

You can find free HTML editors on the internet, however I myself don’t personally use a visual editor and they can become a bit confusing.

We personally use CuteFTP and if you are fluent in HTML code then this is the perfect HTML editor for you.

The best free HTML editor I have tried before is CoffeeCup HTML Editor.

However there are many HTML editor software tools out there that in the long run pay for themselves.

Here are a few HTML editors you might want to check out and like I said before is a must have in building a website if you are creating one on your own:

www.CoffeeCup.com
www.CuteFTP.com
www.adobe.com/products/dreamweaver

With most HTML editors there will also be a FTP program.

This allows files and folders from your computer to be transferred over onto your server and can be made live.

This is also a must have tool when creating your squeeze page. CuteFTP provides an HTML editor as well as an FTP.

With Coffee Cup HTML Editor you will need to also download an FTP program such as FreeFTP which is a free FTP program.

After you have all of the tools above, you are now officially ready to start making your squeeze page.

You will need to get graphics for your squeeze page, which will be your template that you will be creating your squeeze page on.

You can go to the WarriorForum.com and go to a section called “warriors for hire” and find tons of designers offering packages for some killer prices.

It is important that you check out the graphic designers portfolio because graphics do mean a whole lot in how well your squeeze page converts for you.

You certainly don’t want a bunch of garbage that looks like a kindergartener drew it. You want your graphics to be clean, sleek, and professional.

You can go to Google and type in graphics designers and find all kinds of graphics designers and portfolios, so it’s really not that hard to find the right graphics designer that will work with you and get you exactly what you are looking for.

Here are just few graphics designers with portfolios that you might be interested in checking out when you go to order your graphics for your squeeze page.

I know it seems like a lot of steps to go through, but it really is simple and easy to learn how to do and once you have all the tools you need to make your squeeze page, you’ll have your site up and running in no time at all.

How To Build A Squeeze Page The Proper Way

You may have heard of a squeeze page and wondered what on earth it is, and what it does.

Well, if done properly, it is a very effective way to build your list quickly, but it can involve a certain amount of expense.

A squeeze page is a web page that is dedicated to building your e-mail list. It should contain a killer headline, the main benefits of your product or service, a couple of high impact testimonials, and a sign up form.

Once you have created your squeeze page, you can take out pay per click adverts on Google, MSN and Yahoo to get as much traffic to your page as possible.

Make sure your adverts are well written to get targeted traffic, however; the advert text should ensure that your visitors are already interested in your business before they even click on the ad otherwise you will be paying for visitors that will not give you their details, and wouldn’t buy form you even if they did.

Do the search engines like squeeze pages?

When the concept of a squeeze page was originally created, it would have been a single page website and the only option your visitors would have had when they arrived on your squeeze page were to sign up to your list, or press the back button.

This has changed in the last couple of years as Google has started to take site quality into account with its pay per click advertising.

This means that ads to these type of squeeze pages could cost up to $5 per click.

Many people believe that Google penalizes squeeze pages, but this is not necessarily the case.

Follow these rules and your squeeze page will likely still achieve the desired results:

1. Make your squeeze page a landing page on your website and not a single page website on its own.

2. Make sure you have around three hundred words of content on your squeeze page.

This is not as much as it sounds once you have detailed the benefits of subscribing to your business and added some testimonials.

3. Include a few links to the home page of your site, or other relevant sites.

If you place these at the bottom of your squeeze page they will not distract your visitors too much, and if they click on them they were probably not going to give you their details anyway.

To recap, a squeeze page can be effective with the following criteria:

- A well written pay per click ad that attracts targeted traffic

- A captivating headline

- Punchy copy showing the main benefits of your business

- High impact testimonials

- A simple sign up form

- Following certain rules to keep Pay Per Click rates down

How To Use Banner Advertising To Build Your List

You can also try the method of using banner ads to advertise your site or product.

Some people find this technique more useful than others.

A lot of the times the appearance of your banner itself is what attracts potential subscribers to your product or site.

Normally the PTC sites will also give you the option to have a banner ad to advertise your product or site.

A lot of the PTC sites will either place your banner ad directly on their website or a network of websites.

Now there are two different methods that you can use when buying your banner ads.

One method is by paying a set price for a set amount of banner ad displays.

For example; $10 for 10,000 displays or impressions.

The other method is to use the PPC method.

This is where your ad will be displayed as many times as it takes to reach the number of clicks that you have bought or set your limit to.

For example; $10 for 100 clicks, even if your banner ad is displayed 100,000 times!

You absolutely do not want to pay per impression. In my opinion the method that would be a much better value would be the PPC method.

Using this method you are guaranteed a certain number of responses.

5,000 and even 10,000 banner ad displays may seem like a lot, but it really isn’t.

It takes more displays than you think to get the kind of responses you are seeking.

After you have decided which method you are going to be using you will need to then have your banner created.

There are tons of services on the internet where you can get a clean, sleek, and professional banner ad created.

A lot of the times when you have graphics made for your mini site, some graphics designers will already include a banner graphic.

If you can’t afford to have a graphics designer create a banner ad for you, you may want to try making one yourself.

Though I do not recommend that you try to make banner ads yourself because you want your graphics for your banner ad stand out above the rest, there are services on the internet that will guide you in making a banner ad step by step.

One “do- it- yourself” banner ad service you can check out is addesigner.com. Here you can choose from many different themes, fonts, and even animations.

This would be a very cheap way to advertise!

Remember the goal of using paid for list building methods is to gain as many potential subscribers to be added to your mailing list, so investing a few dollars for potential subscribers can in the long run be a big payoff to your bank account.

Always keep in mind, when choosing a list building methods, it is wise to try all of your options and find 2-3 that stick and gain you the subscribers and stay solely with those options.

If the method you are trying is not producing subscribers then simply stop doing that particular method.

Pay Per Click Advertising

A great option to try when using a paid for advertising method is Pay Per Click (PPC). PPC ads are the ads that pop up on the right side of the screen on Google as well as tons of other sites that allow PPC ads to be placed on their sites.

Using PPC you simply create an ad for your product or service and then your ad is placed on a site or sites to be advertised.

The great thing about PPC is you only pay for your ad when a viewer clicks on your ads. This is a great way to gain “targeted” traffic to your mailing list and promising customers for your future products or services.

Google Adwords is the most popular and most commonly used PPC advertising companies.

Here you can limit how much you want to spend on advertising for your advertisement. You can spend as little as $10 a month on a PPC advertisement.

The key thing to remember when creating a PPC ad is to choose relevant keywords for your advertisement.

This will help Google and the other PPC sites to make a proper placement for your product and service when a viewer types in the particular relevant keyword associated with your ad.

PPC can also be your worst enemy if you do not use this method properly. Make sure you set your spending limits and research all your options when using PPC.

With the proper use of relevant keywords as well as setting your spending limits will ensure you don’t get in over your head with the amounts of money you are spending on your PPC advertisment.

Using the PPC method is definitely a great choice when deciding on using a paid for method for list building and something you will want to research and look into.

Banner Advertising

Another great option when using paid for advertising for list building is using banner advertising.

Banner ads are the ads placed on sites that have graphics that catches a viewers’ eye and into your product or service which urges the viewer to click on the banner to learn more.

This is a great way to generate traffic to your site and will gain you subscribers by the tons.

The graphics and text of your banner ad determines a lot on the success of your banner ad being clicked on by a viewer.

A lot of marketers use flashy ads that move or have an animation of some sort such as an arrow pointing to click here now.

There are many sites that provide you with the services to place your ad on other sites. Normally a site will charge per set of displays for your banner ad.

For example, you could get a set of 10,000 views for your banner for $10. This paying method is basically paying for displays.

Another paying method in banner advertising is paying per impression. This can be a very expensive. For example, you would have to pay $10 per 100 clicks even if your ad is being displayed 100,000 times.

By using the paying option of paying per displays is a better and cheaper option to choose when deciding to try banner advertising for list building.

There are also a lot programs out on the market today that provide you with the services to create your own banner if you can’t afford a graphics designer to create you a banner.

When creating your banner ad you will want to make sure it is colorful and stresses the urgency to click on your banner.

You want your banner to be eye catching. Make your banner pop out to the viewer as soon as they see your banner on the page.

Using banner advertising as a paid for method of list building is a great and low cost way to generate new subscribers for your list and something you will definitely want to check into.

So there are a couple of options you can try when deciding to use the paid for options of list building. There are many other ways to gain subscribers through paid for methods.

Research them all and find the option that best fits your needs and your limits when it comes to what you are dishing out on advertising.

Paid for methods of list building is a great method to use when you want to gain an ample amount of new subscribers to your list.
