How To Build A Squeeze Page The Proper Way

You may have heard of a squeeze page and wondered what on earth it is, and what it does.

Well, if done properly, it is a very effective way to build your list quickly, but it can involve a certain amount of expense.

A squeeze page is a web page that is dedicated to building your e-mail list. It should contain a killer headline, the main benefits of your product or service, a couple of high impact testimonials, and a sign up form.

Once you have created your squeeze page, you can take out pay per click adverts on Google, MSN and Yahoo to get as much traffic to your page as possible.

Make sure your adverts are well written to get targeted traffic, however; the advert text should ensure that your visitors are already interested in your business before they even click on the ad otherwise you will be paying for visitors that will not give you their details, and wouldn’t buy form you even if they did.

Do the search engines like squeeze pages?

When the concept of a squeeze page was originally created, it would have been a single page website and the only option your visitors would have had when they arrived on your squeeze page were to sign up to your list, or press the back button.

This has changed in the last couple of years as Google has started to take site quality into account with its pay per click advertising.

This means that ads to these type of squeeze pages could cost up to $5 per click.

Many people believe that Google penalizes squeeze pages, but this is not necessarily the case.

Follow these rules and your squeeze page will likely still achieve the desired results:

1. Make your squeeze page a landing page on your website and not a single page website on its own.

2. Make sure you have around three hundred words of content on your squeeze page.

This is not as much as it sounds once you have detailed the benefits of subscribing to your business and added some testimonials.

3. Include a few links to the home page of your site, or other relevant sites.

If you place these at the bottom of your squeeze page they will not distract your visitors too much, and if they click on them they were probably not going to give you their details anyway.

To recap, a squeeze page can be effective with the following criteria:

- A well written pay per click ad that attracts targeted traffic

- A captivating headline

- Punchy copy showing the main benefits of your business

- High impact testimonials

- A simple sign up form

- Following certain rules to keep Pay Per Click rates down
